Fitness
Nothing shapes my body better than lifting weights.
My workouts are anywhere from 30min to 90 minutes depending on intensity and goals. They range from interval training and HIIT cardio or circuits, to heavy lifting and focusing on single muscle groups each day. I weigh myself on occasion but do not obsess over numbers. Muscle weighs more than fat, and the body fluctuates so much depending on so many different factors. My weight now stays consistent, and is [20 pounds] lower than when I use to spend 2 hours + exercising in the past, restricting my diet that led to overeating, guilt, and overexercising. My appetite is not as raging and out of control anymore. I’ve finally learned and realized that you can get an efficient workout in a short amount of time, it just depends on how hard you push yourself. Some days I work harder than others, and thats what my body prefers. Daily efforts and consistency is what will achieve amazing results!

I do not belong to a gym, so all of my workouts are done at home. I’ve been able to work towards my goals with the equipment I have. Free weights, bands, a jump rope and pull up bar with a little motivation can do more than you think! This is a lifestyle for me, where my goal is to always continue to get stronger and gain/maintain muscle.
Not everyone is the same, and prefer to exercise differently. Its all about what makes you happy.

I needed to hear that message again. As a runner, I sometimes forget that it’s not all about the miles you cover, fitness includes a whole lot more. Lovin the blog!!
xoxo
Thanks Adina
hey felicia, i loved reading about your fitness journey! i also played a lot of sports growing up and have tried long-distance running as well as yoga, weights, etc. like you said, ive realized that EVERYONE is SO different and what works for one person doesn’t always work for another – still trying to figure out what works best for me, which takes some trial and error of course, but it really seems like youve found your sweet spot – and that’s inspiring =)
Thanks Natalie! You will figure it out- now that I have, I couldn’t be happier and I’ve finally let go of being so hard on myself. Good luck

Thank you Meg!
Thanks for sharing your story. I feel like I can totally relate with the binging and the night shift things you described. I feel like right now I am in such a similar situation with feeling down, not at my happy weight/size, and I just so badly want to get out of this rut!
I know how you feel! A lot of it is about your own mentality, and for me it helped my finding motivation through others that inspire me. I had to find comfort in other things rather than food. Its hard but you can do it
What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing it and I am so happy I read it tonight. I have been struggling with having so little time to give to exercise as I am a full time working mom to a 17 month old little girl. I have always felt that I need to give so much time to working out that I just get overwhelmed and then don’t end up doing it at all. Reading this has helped me realise that actually, I don’t need to! Look at you! You look amazing and you seem like you’ve really found your groove. I’d love to chat more about lifting as it’s always intimidated me a little bit. Do you think I should start with Body Pump classes?
Body pump is a great start! Learning the basic movements would start you off nicely. There is a ton of information on bodybuilding.com (which looks intimidating too, and very masculine, but it is full of a LOT of great info). Another recommendation would be to look up Jamie Eason’s Life Fit Trainer (also on bodybuilding.com). Its is three different phases, focusing on gaining muscle and weight training, and then getting lean. All of the exercises have a video that shows you how to do each movement. Just something to look at
Good luck!
Love this
I hope my foot fully heals, so I can get back to HIIT workouts. I love how quick + effective they are. I’m strength training right now and feeling great but the workouts are a bit boring.
Wow, your story is truly inspiring and amazing!! I’m very amazed by your perseverance and just how much one can get back up on their feet even after the craziest hardships. Keep on going Felicia!
Wow you’re body is amazing, as well as your story. I am very inspired by your story and I look forward to having a blog as awesome and inspirational as yours!
